Weve had a look at screen preferences – TV’s are third

Weve is the joint venture between the UK’s three largest mobile network operators  EE, Telefonica UK (O2) and Vodafone UK.

On a survey of 2,000 adults (18-55+) they discovered that 28% cited their mobile device as becoming their most important screen. This rose to just under half for the 18-34 year olds.

A quarter of us go first to a mobile device to go online and this again nearly gets up to half (45%) for the 18-34 age group.

“Today, over 32 per cent of our 20-million, opted-in customer base are actively using their mobile as their first screen and most importantly going online and purchasing through their device.” Commented David Sear, CEO of Weve,

Elsewhere Firefish for the iab (Internet Advertising Bureau – UK) have been assessing, through a slightly smaller sample 1,350 but at a horrifying level of detail involving 700 hours of video footage captured using FishEyeTM cameras, the level of our “connection addiction”.

Well we apparently connect 34 times a day for 2 hours and 12 minutes a day!
