Is it a mobile Black Friday UK?

Many US and UK retailers believe it will be a mobile holiday buying season. m commerce whilst likely to increase significantly year on year (ie Market Research forecast global compound annual growth rates of a point or two under 20% over the next 5 years in their last Quarters report) still only has a small share of the overall online market.

Currently in both the UK & the US the mobile emphasis seems (as with the innovative “Santa tags” from J C Penney highlighted yesterday) to be on the periphery, partially due to security & privacy considerations (we’re sure our domestic ongoing “hacking” saga has reinforced these concerns).

Shopkick is another US example soon to launch in the UK. We’ll let their infographic below explain what they do. Their UK website was originally registered back in October 2009.
